You may think you’re able to tell your favourite beer from the rest, but you could well be caught out at the SAB World of Beer’s beer tastings. Whether you consider yourself a beer connoisseur or if you’re not much of a beer drinker at all, our experienced team will guide you through an informative, fun-filled tasting.
Once a month on a Saturday, the World of Beer hosts a beer-pairing lunch. This event is almost unprecedented in an industry overly preoccupied with wine and whiskey pairings, but not with exploring and creating meals that deliberately complement the multitude of flavours found in beer.
The SAB World of Beer’s Tap Room restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy a good old pub lunch and a cold one.
In our welcoming, vibey restaurant overlooking Newtown, beer isn’t only served in glasses – it’s an important ingredient in several of the dishes on the menu. Try one of our Tap Room classics, such as hake in a Castle Lager batter, chicken basted with Hansa Marzen Gold, and our Castle Milk Stout beef pie. There are also some lighter options, from salads to toasted paninis and wraps – and, of course, a few decadent items to round things off.
The Tap Room is open every day until 6pm and is abuzz on Friday and Saturday afternoons: it's the perfect place to relax with friends and family or to watch the game.
If you join us on one of our tours, you will be treated to two complimentary drinks in the Tap Room afterwards. If you've already experienced our tour and would prefer to head straight to the Tap Room, R40 will see you inside, along with two ice-cold beers in hand.
In line with our policy to always encourage responsible drinking, we do not sell our guests more than two beers during their time in the Tap Room.
Step into the World of Beer merchandise shop, Tankards and Togs, where you'll find an array of beer merchandise and distinctive SAB sporting gear.
Browse through a selection of our finely crafted beer glasses or try on our branded caps, T-shirts, jackets and hoodies. If you’re looking for something exceptional, take a look at our vintage posters, which serve as the perfect backdrop to any bar or man cave and can be framed on request. And, of course, nothing gives a bar that distinctly professional feel quite like a bar mat.
You're also welcome to buy a voucher for Tankards and Togs to pass on to an ardent beer lover in your life.
