What’s smooth, golden and lives at the World of Beer?
Why, Stella Artois, of course! Lovers of the world’s top-selling Belgian beer can now find their favourite lager on tap at the Tap Room pub.
The beer is currently imported by South Africa and sold in bottles and on tap.
The heritage of this popular beer dates back to 1926, which is testament to consistent use of the finest natural ingredients in handcrafted tradition. The beer is made from pils malt, noble Saaz hops, maize and water.
The “stella” in the name Stella Artois has an interesting a history. Given the popularity of the brewery, a special batch of beer was brewed as a Christmas gift to the people of Leuven. The star (stella in Latin) commemorates the special occasion and continues to feature on the bottle today.
Purists recommend drinking this European lager from an iconic chalice created specifically for ultimate enjoyment of Stella Artois. Its unique shape heightens the aroma of the beer, while a deep stem keeps the beer colder for longer.
On the palate you should expect “a pleasantly bitter hoppiness and refreshing, crisp finish”. If you’re thinking of food pairing, a glass of Stella is best teamed with spicy cured meats such as salami or mortadella, hard cheeses or seafood.
Stella Artois is served in 95 countries around the world.
