5 Travel Safety Tips for Joburg

Get the best travel experience with these simple yet effective safety tips for your next visit to the city of gold and the World of Beer.

Tip 1: We have parking

Ready to tantalise your beer(taste)buds? When you arrive at the World of Beer, park inside the venue in our designated visitor's parking.

Tip 2: Look for the WOB logo

All of our staff wear branded SAB clothing or World of Beer uniforms to help visitors identify staff members to guide you into the building

Tip 3: Be aware of your surroundings

No matter where you travel to in the world, it's always best to be observant of the people around you. Whether you are entering or exiting the World of Beer by private transport or a tour bus, check your surroundings. Remember – see something, say something.

Tip 4: In case of emergencies

Be sure to save local emergency numbers on your phone in case you need to make an important call. Here are important numbers:

  • Emergency: 112
  • ER24 emergency: 084 124
  • Police: 10111
  • Fire department: 10177

Tip 5: Travel light and smart

When touring the city, do it with as little baggage as possible – it makes for a better (lighter) experience and it’s easier to keep it all safe and zipped up. Furthermore, be smart and don't carry large amounts of cash or valuables on you.

We hope you have an excellent time in our beautiful and bustling city. Experience the sites, taste our legendary beer and keep safe!
